Activities to do during your stay

Nature With Nick Hi I’m Nick. I take small groups and individuals for wildlife walks in rural Devon. Teach wildlife photography and run photography workshops in the UK. Help you master your camera, and give you the confidence to create the photographs you desire. 

Rock & Rapid Adventure activities from our climbing center in North Devon – which is the largest in the area. Whether you’re looking for a rock climbing taster session, an abseiling experience, a go on the low ropes or just a quick boulder, our climbing wall in Devon is the place to be – 20 minutes drive

Golf Chulmleigh Golf Course is a family owned and operated course and we encourage all players regardless of experience. Open 7 days a week from April to October, 8.30am until close. No strict dress code nor do we require golf shoes or handicaps.  Jeans and trainers are acceptable.  Golf clubs and equipment are available to hire from the clubhouse – 7 minutes drive

Swimming, Spa & Gym The Mole Resort has an indoor 20m heated pool with steam room, Sauna and Jacuzzi. They also have a treatment area where you can have treatments from revitalising facials to a Swedish massage. The gym is fully equipped and runs many classes – 15 minute drive

Beaches (many more beaches at Visit Devon)

We are surrounded by such beautiful beaches, but here are our favourites:

Saunton Sands is a beach near the English village of Saunton on the North Devon coast near Braunton. Popular for longboard surfing. – 40 minutes drive’

Westward Ho! is a popular family beach Made up of a long sandy beach backed by a pebble ridge with Northam Burrows Country Park accessible at one end – 47 minutes drive

Instow Beach attractive area and has always been popular with artists. There is plenty to do for children and lots of space to play. Activities allowed on the beach include wind surfing and kite surfing. Dogs allowed on the beach from October until April. Easily accessible facilities including a range of food outlets toilets beach shops a slipway and car park make – 42 minutes drive

Our Ethos

At Lakemoor we strive to take better care of our planet, stocking local products, and connecting guests with local suppliers. Our structures are built from environmentally sound and/or recycled materials (wherever possible). The Lakeside Cabins are off grid with Fire pits/BBQ and solar lighting. Our Camping and Caravanning includes fresh drinking water from our borehole, composting toilets, communal fire pit, BBQ and picnic benches.

Recycling

We take recycling very seriously. Bins and containers for you to sort your rubbish into. Please sort your own waste or take it home with you. Single Use Plastic Bins full of plastic are unsightly, a magnet for wasps, and terrible for the planet.

Help us reduce the plastic produced at Lakemoor, by bringing less plastic packaged food, or buying local. If you buy new products for your stay, please remove the packaging before you leave home.

Drinking Water

Tasty, healthy and fully tested water drawn through ancient aquifers, refill your containers, no need for bottled water. Find us on the Refill app, to find free drinking water on the go.

Local Produce

Before filling the car at home, consider buying local from farm shops and local breweries. We sell local firewood and charcoal for your campfire.
